Can you believe it has almost been 6 year since I released my last album?
With that said, it is definitely time to update all of you wonder people on the happenings in my world!
I am a mother of 4 kiddos, ages 4, 6, 14, and 16, who I get the pleasure staying home with, while also running 4 in home businesses. It can be a lot to juggle, but I love that I am the one who gets to take my kids to and from school, activities and fit work in around them. Up until 2018 I felt a lot of mom guilt for putting time or energy into my music, so I just didn't. Quite frankly I thought that once I got married, my job was to focus on the kids and house. I didn't make myself or the things that made me happy outside of mommin' it up, a priority. I fell into a deep depression and knew I needed to snap out of it for the sake of my beautiful family. I sought out therapy, have done tons of self-development and got plugging into church, all of this helped pull me out of the dark, and I am forever grateful! I was finally in a good enough headspace to no longer believe the lies I had told myself about not being able to do music and raise a family at the same time. I feel stronger than ever and I want my kids to see that they can still live out and follow their dreams no matter what. My mom guilt has quickly gone away, especially when I hear my kids humming or singing my songs randomly in our house. I am a better version of myself when I am pouring my heart, soul, feelings and emotions into writing, singing and recording and therefor I am a better mom and wife. Happy wife, happy life, ammiright?
If 2018 I reached out to Rachel James, an extremely talented songwriter, I wanted to show her some of my ideas and see if we could bring them to life. Little did I know she was also getting into producing music as well. We connected instantly, she heard my visions and brought them to life with her talented musical abilities and over the course of 2018 we co-wrote 6 of the 8 songs that make my upcoming album, Invincible. Rachel is such an amazing writer, when I heard 2 of her other originals, I knew I had to include those on the album as well.
